MONDAYS AT VHF
Winter is finally upon us after a glorious fall and although teh HUNTER FIELD in front of the stable is now CLOSED, the cross country fields will stay open all winter until the spring. However, please exercise prudence and caution as the ground is now very wet or partially frozen. Loss of shoes and strain injury can result with your horses in wet, slippery or inconsistent footing. Please stay on the edges of the fields until the ground is frozen completely or snow covered. Please DO NOT ride in the fields if they are very wet.
CROSS COUNTRY FIELD & VH FARM FIELDS
- The HUNTER FIELD in front of the stable is CLOSED.
- The cross country fields ARE STILL OPEN.
- Please DO NOT ride on the fields if it soft enough to leave hoofprints.
- Please understand the fields are all harvested for hay and should be respected.
- Please always stay on the edges of the hay fields or along the ditches, unless snow covered.
- Please stay out of low wet spots especially when around jumps.
- Please DO NOT JUMP if wet.
PLEASE USE COMMON SENSE WHEN RIDING IN SOFT FOOTING AND STAY OFF SOFT GROUND. TRY TO LEAVE NO TRACKS OR DIVOTS. We are a clay based soil and once the divots dry they leave dangerous footing for horses.
