Welcome to Festival Pontiac Enchanté
@ Venturing Hills Farm
July 9th to July 25th, 2010
We are located at the Farm of the Mountain property, a well-known equestrian training facility established in the 1970’s. Peter Becke and Deborah Bradley purchased the farm in 2007. Venturing Hills Farm, at 440 Cregheur Road, is beautifully situated near the Ottawa River and tucked up against the Eardley escarpment between the Champlain Lookout and the Luskville Falls.
Between the dates of July 9th to July 25th we invite you to join us for 11 classical music concerts. For three consecutive weekends, audiences will see and hear professional artists and training students present a different musical theme at each event. A bow to the 200th anniversaries of Chopin and Schumann, recitals, chamber music and “A Night at the Opera”, are all here this summer for you to enjoy with us. We also have special guests from Austria, The Vienna Piano Trio. In partnership with the Pontiac School of Art we are hosting “Enfants Enchantés”, a multidisciplinary children’s concert, July 15th. The unique venue, a 100-seat climate-controlled studio built in the top of the hay barn, where artists perform while horses stable below, will give music lovers a chance to hear some remarkable music in a very beautiful part of the Pontiac and the Ottawa Valley.
The goal of Festival Pontiac Enchanté is to give gifted young classical musicians and seasoned professionals from the Ottawa Valley a venue in which to work together, and to display their many talents and energies in a performance setting. The audience will see and hear the product of that shared passion.
In our second summer we look forward to the continued growth of Festival Pontiac Enchanté. The Gala on July 9th is our opening celebration. A “100 mile dinner” with produce of the Pontiac, catered this year by Café 349 of Shawville. (view the menu…). Join us before and after the concerts at the hospitality tent hosted by Sheila McCrindle and Anne Beeton; they will be serving up tea, coffee, scones, and a few as yet undetermined goodies.
Peter and I welcome the artists, old friends and guests to our remarkable piece of the Pontiac, for the summer 2010 version of Festival Pontiac Enchanté.
Enjoy
Peter Becke and Deborah Bradley
