The Sylva Gelber Music Foundation, originally the “Young Canada Music Foundation,” was established by Sylva Gelber in 1973 to support and encourage the study of music and assist talented young artists to pursue a career in music. The Foundation seeks out the most promising young Canadian talent in the field of classical music performance in a select number of Canadian and foreign music schools and, through a competitive process, awards support to individuals of outstanding ability for projects to further their studies and advance their career. Since 2015, Pontiac Enchanté has collaborated with the Foundation to present concerts featuring some of their award winners. These performances have seen collaborations between Canadian artists living and working across Canada, the United States, and further afield. In many cases, the performers had not met or worked together before, so Pontiac Enchanté has served as a meeting point for young Canadian artists with much in common, and as a starting point for future artistic partnerships.
This gala concert will begin with a glass of wine served on arrival, and a buffet dinner served outside on the lawn at intermission.
