Pontiac Enchanté - 2010 Season

Dear Friends and Sponsors,

Festival Pontiac Enchanté (www.venturinghills.ca) emerged as a means to provide an educational and nurturing performance venue for gifted, classically trained musicians and singers who have called the greater Ottawa/Gatineau area home.

Venturing Hills farm is home to an acclaimed Equestrian training center.  It has also become home of Pontiac Enchanté. For three consecutive weekends in July, and one concert each Christmas, spring and fall, students, and young professionals collaborate with seasoned artists, sharing ideas and skills.  Audiences see and hear the product of those shared passions. The venue is a 100 seat, acoustically brilliant, loft, built above the stables.  Programs are oriented around small chamber ensembles, solos and duets.

Under the direction of international performing artist and pedagogue, Jean Desmarais, the inaugural summer season presented 6 concerts.  Mr. Desmarais coached, rehearsed, performed, applauded and collaborated with the efforts of the thirteen invited musicians.

Performances were artistically ambitious, technically demanding, energetic events that were enthusiastically received by appreciative audiences.  Audience members were primarily from the greater Ottawa area, with individuals coming from as far away as Mont Tremblant, Montebello, Arnprior, Renfrew, and a good number of neighbours from the Pontiac itself.  Interestingly there were several tourists from abroad (Switzerland, England, Germany, USA) who also visited, enchanted by the scenery and the setting for classical music.

The 2010 summer edition of Festival Pontiac Enchanté will continue to grow and diversify, including:

To accomplish this growth and diversification additional funding is required for the ongoing development of the web site and the support of the artists. This funding will go along way to ensure the high level of excellence the audience has come to enjoy.

Venturing Hills Corporation and Venturing Hills farm continue as the primary sponsors of this Festival, providing capital, manpower, rehearsal space, performance venue, on site labour and support for the artists.  A strong foundation has been established, please contact us if you are interested in joining our growing group of benefactors.
